Federal law — the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) — requires all states and territories to provide early intervention and preschool special education for children with disabilities and special health care needs.

The families who have graciously consented to have their stories told here have been assured that their family values, relationships, personal goals and concerns will be held in the strictest confidence. Each situation is unique and is presented with the intent of providing you, the visitor, with the support, information, or education that you seek. So, if you recognize a story, family or situation, please maintain the confidentiality and generosity with which the story has been shared.
