Individual and Group Intervention
All children develop differently and at their own pace. We offer many services to meet your childs unique needs. As the parent, you will work with the Pediatric Services professionals to determine where and how these services should be delivered. Services may be provided in your home, at childcare, at a grandparents home, or in any other setting that will best meet your needs. Each setting may have a special advantage for your child and for you. In choosing a setting, we consider your childs age and special needs as well as the familys situation and schedule. An important part of Pediatric Services is the parent-to-parent contact and support. Group intervention allows experienced peer parents to share their experiences and to support other parents who are new to a particular situation. Group intervention can be in a home, school, resource center, or any other location that meets the needs of the group. Confidentiality and privacy are maintained in all settings. The amount of information that parents wish to share about themselves and their children set the format for the group. The primary goal, regardless of the setting, is to provide appropriate intervention and education for parents so that their children will become a productive and independent individuals. As the parent, you are the most influential and consistent adult in your childs life. Pediatric Services works as part of a partnership with you to coordinate community resources based on the childs needs and your preference. A customized plan for you and your child may include individual services, group services, or a combination of both whatever best meets your needs.
